This year alone, there have been over 3,600 wildfires in California. The fires destroy thousands of acres of land, and cause people to be evacuated from their homes – sometimes never coming back. Stuart Palley is a Los Angeles native that has dedicated the last three years of his life to photographing wildfires, and his photos are at once powerful, beautiful, and shocking. To capture these images, Palley follows weather communications closely for news of fires. Once there, he uses a long exposure that intensifies the heat and color of the inferno.
