Steve Cutts is an illustrator and animator who has a lot to say about the lives we are all living. His satirical illustrations highlight our complete dependency on and addiction to technology while ignoring our basic relationships with our own health and the environment. Based in London, Cutts is passionate about his role of speaking out through his work. “Society is in a strange place right now and traditionally it has always been one of the roles of an artist to comment on the times he or she lives in,” says Cutts. It is perhaps his previous experience working at an ad agency for global clients that exposed him to the reality of the rat race and a society built on consumerism. The freelance artist likes to draw inspiration from graphic novels, comic books, and cartoons from the 30’s and 40’s.
