We raise and nurture our pets and they basically become part of our family. Some come into our homes young and tiny just like human babies. We watch their fast growth into adulthood. However, certain pets grow past what is considered their average adult size and take it to another level. In fact some pets grow so big, they break world records! Check out some of the world’s biggest pets below. You’ll be surprised just how tall and/or heavy they are. You may also be surprised what kind of pets have actually gained these titles.George was ironically the runt of his litter but eventually grew and surpassed not only his siblings but every other dog in existence. In 2010, Guinness World Records not only recognized him as the world’s tallest dog but the tallest dog ever.

Darius consumes a total of 2,000 carrots and 700 apples per year. Darius’ son (Jeff) has also grown very big at 44 inches long and is expected to eventually dwarf his father.

Gary’s breed is similar to a giant guinea pig or hamster. He sleeps in bed with his owner and likes to take dips in the backyard pool. The couple took Gary in after falling in love with him in Venezuela.

Ralph eats about $90 worth of food per week. His average daily meal consists of corn on the cob, broccoli, cabbage, a carrot, sweet corn, half a cucumber, two slices of brown bread, two apples, half a bag of watercress and crackers. Ralph actually reclaimed the Guinness World Record for world’s largest rabbit, after being outweighed by Darius in 2010.

When standing on his hind legs, Zorba would have overshadowed any NBA basketball player! He holds the all time Guinness World Record for the largest dog ever.

Jake has been big since he was a baby. He weighed 240 pounds at birth (50 pounds more than average). Jake was first named the world’s tallest living horse in Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 and reappears in the book for both 2011 and 2013.

Sammy is owned by the famous Colin Kaepernick — quarterback of the San Francisco football team, the 49ers. Kaepernick’s parents take care of Sammy whenever Kaepernick is busy on the football field.

Goldie was originally bought for 99 cent in a pet shop in 1993 and only 1 inch long at the time. He doesn’t get fed anything more than just twice a day with fish flakes.

Part of the reason why he’s so big is because he’s part African wildcat. In the photo, we see Trouble (on the right) standing next to his ‘niece’ (on the left) who is just a regular house cat.

Gibson passed away in 2009 and was recognized as the world’s tallest dog by Guinness Book of World Records in 2004.

Bandit was born with a thyroid problem, which was the main cause for his weight gain. He was originally adopted by a dog mom that raised him like he was one of her own puppies. He was then later on adopted by a woman in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.

Ulric weighs about the same amount as an average 3 year old child. He spent most of his life stealing his sister’s food in addition to indulging on cat biscuits. After being declared as “morbidly obese” by the vet twice, his owner has started putting Ulric on a diet.

Zeus devoured a 30 pound bag of food everyday and drank water directly from the sink (as shown in the photo). He was recognizes as world’s tallest living dog in 2012 by Guinness World Records.

Stewie was named after the character in Family Guy. He was recognized as the world’s longest cat in 2010. Stewie passed away at the age of 8 after a long battle with cancer.
