Don’t feel so hot? That’s probably because we’re exposed to toxins every day, like the food we eat and the air we breathe. But there are simple ways to detoxify your body every day, and they take almost no effort. For those of you out there that enjoy a nice glass of red wine, this one’s for you. Wine not only tastes great, red wine cleanses the blood, prevents blood clots, and protects the tissue of large blood vessels. Wine also reduces your risk of certain cancers, it releases endorphins, and it also fights urinary tract infections. Sounds good to us, but if you’re not a fan of wine…

We understand that this sounds a bit strange, and looks it, too, but it’s also extremely effective. Activated charcoal is pretty much debris, burned wood, and even coconut shells. It’s best used before eating things like beans, where the body’s decomposition process from your body’s bacteria creates byproducts, like gas or diarrhea. The activated charcoal enters your digestive tract and stops this process by binding to the byproducts, thus relieving the digestive issues. Say goodbye to those toxins! If charcoal isn’t your thing, try some water.

There’s a known ionic foot detox that is said to work by pulling the body’s toxins out through the feet. Healthline claims that this process gives the hydrogen in the water a positive charge, which then attracts the negatively charged toxins throughout the body. But what exactly does this mean? The ions in the water apparently hold a charge that allows them to bind to all the toxins and heavy metals in your body. It kind of works just like a magnet. It allows the toxins in your body to be pulled out through your feet.

Smoothies are delicious, but they can also be loaded with sugars (we’ll talk about that in a moment) and calories that actually do more harm than good. The benefits of smoothies entirely depend on the quality of the ingredients. They should include foods like kale, spinach, fruits, milk alternatives, and probiotics. Consuming a lot of raw dietary fiber, found in veggies and fruits, can help improve digestion which will help naturally cleanse your system. Now that we’re talking about “natural”…

Yeah, you read that right. Apparently, Kim Kardashian helped make blood facials a thing. PopScience claims, “A ‘blood facial’ or ‘vampire facial’ is a cosmetic procedure during which a doctor draws a couple vials of blood from your arm, centrifuges the blood to separate out the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells, and then adds the platelet-rich plasma back into your face.” Apparently, this draws toxins out of your body and gives you a glow of you, but try this at your own risk.

You hear this everywhere you go. Honestly, it really is as important as they say when it comes to flushing toxins out of the body. And it’s free! Well, as long as you’re not spending $3 for every bottle. Drinking water is the easiest thing you can do for your body. Consuming the proper amount of water can help clear your skin, contribute to proper organ function, and help your circulatory, digestive, and respiratory systems work more effectively. It’s quite easy to see that this one liquid can entirely make you body work better, and did we mention that it’s free?

Think about it. Our feet are under constant pressure of our entire body weight. When you add uncomfortable shoes and running around all of the time to the mix, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that our feet can get cracked heels, varicose veins, and fungal infections. Which aren’t the best things to have. What’s the solution? Use natural products like peppermint essential oil, mint tea, lemon juice, olive oil, Epsom salt, and a bowl of nice hot water to soak your feet in. What you’ll get is a nice calm for your feet, an elimination of foul smells, and the death of bacteria and fungi.

We completely understand that sugary foods can be scrumptious, but they can also be pretty bad for your diet and your body. When you eat too many foods made with white sugar or flour, your body creates toxins that you just don’t want in there. These are called simple carbohydrates. They may make you feel full and satisfied, but what you’re actually experiencing is the rise and fall of your blood sugar level. This creates a horrible cycle that you really don’t want to end up in. Try switching to fiber-rich whole grain foods where you can and your body will be grateful. Let’s talk about those fiber-rich foods.

After water, the best thing you can do for your body is eat organic fruits and vegetables. Just by eating, you can help get those toxins out of your body. Yay for food! Eating nothing but organic can get pretty expensive, so the rule of thumb is: if you’re eating the outside of the fruit or vegetable, you should go for organic. Choosing the right organic foods allows you to avoid the toxins that are harmful to your health, and the fibers help push out the ones that you have ingested. It’s all about making healthy food choices while shopping. But what about all of the breathing you do?

It’s not easy to avoid environmental toxins – they’re literally everywhere. They can be found in places like your car’s exhaust, smog, and in second-hand smoke. If it just doesn’t smell right, stay away from it. The easiest thing to do is to start at home by purifying the air to make sure you’re not breathing in the bad stuff. An air purifier will do the job. It’s also important to keep things pretty clean, so make sure to keep up on your dusting and mopping the floor on a regular basis.

We understand the love of coffee, and coffee definitely has its benefits, too. But if you would exchange one of those cups of coffee for a nice cup of green tea, you would be doing your body a great service. But why is that? Green tea has catechins in it, which are antioxidants that fight, and sometimes, prevent cell damage. Because green tea isn’t processed too much before it hits your lips, there are plenty of catechins in it. Green tea is also known to lower cholesterol, improve blood flow, and help the prevention of heart-related issues, including high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. But what’s on your plate?

The key to fasting is to do it occasionally. This means not doing it days at a time, and consulting your doctor first. Eating a healthy diet is essential for detoxing the body, but fasting every once in awhile allows your body to reset and take a break from digestion. Taking a break from digestion allows your body to have time to rejuvenate and recuperate. Your organs don’t have to stay focused on breaking down your food and its potential toxins. When your organs are allowed to rest they have a chance to recharge, which means you’re going to come back with a burst of natural energy and a more effective digestive system. And don’t forget about physical activity!

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that exercise is essential to good health. But are you actually doing everything you can to get rid of toxins? Sweating is a great way to do this. You can actually see the toxins leave through your pores. The more you sweat, the cleaner your body becomes. In every second you’re sweating, you’re also helping your body’s digestion and circulation, as well as, keeping your organs functioning properly. The sweating, your breathing, and the movements you make, all help your body achieve fitness and dispose of those harmful substances that have built up inside. So how about hitting the gym?

Everyone’s heard of taking antibiotics when you’re sick, but do you know about probiotics? Taking probiotics on a daily basis can help you avoid taking antibiotics in the long run. They work alongside your digestive system by kicking out all of the bad bacteria and putting in lots of the good bacteria. Probiotics can be taken in pill form or in foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and lots of other “probiotics-enriched” foods. They are great at helping you regulate the bacteria that builds up in your intestines, but they also help your body expel the bad bacteria forever.

You brush your hair, your teeth (well, hopefully you do this), so why aren’t you brushing your skin? Skin brushing is a fantastic way to increase your body’s lymphatic flow. The lymphatic system is what collects and transports waste to the blood. So when you brush your skin, you stimulate the lymphatic system, which in turn, invigorates and stimulates the skin. Skin brushing also removes the dead skin from the surface, which allows the pores to open up more, causing you to sweat better. Brushing your skin also increases your circulation and improves your skin in major ways. And it only takes 30 seconds of your time! Actually, every one of the things we mentioned only takes a few moments of your time, but the benefits last so much longer.
