Richard made every possible effort to provide comfort to his wife and children. He would take them for vacations often and bought them a huge house in Indiana. “He was a lot of fun to be with,” said his wife. Richard was a successful man and a very spontaneous husband, an absolute darling and love of her life!

It was a bitter cold evening. Richard called Linda at her office to tell her that he was very sick and needed to go to the emergency room. He never made it back home. To Linda’s surprise, records showed that he had never even checked into the hospital. She tried to find about his whereabouts but her repeated calls and efforts all went futile.

Linda soon realized that her husband had disappeared for good, leaving her alone with their two little kids. It was a nightmare. One moment he was there and the next he was gone. Richard had not packed any of his belongings, from his toothbrush to his passport; everything was in the house as it was. It was the winter season and it was hard to believe that he was not carrying any of his jackets or coats.

Linda was devastated when she learned that her beloved husband had forged her signatures and entered into a huge loan. She was liable for a huge amount of debt. Soon, the police located his abandoned car at the Indianapolis Airport. For a long time, they believed that Linda might have had something to do with her husband’s disappearance. In 2003, he was declared legally dead. Initially, Linda hoped for his return but decided to let go after a few years. She remarried.

She was informed that Richard had been arrested in Florida for identity fraud. He had assumed the identity of Terry Jude Symansky, who had died in 1991. Under his new identity, he remarried and had another child in Zephyrhills. He had also obtained a pilot’s license there. His present wife was shocked to learn about his past whereas Linda was deeply saddened. She couldn’t understand how he could have left a beautiful marriage and lovely children without warning or reason.
