In the United States, the 1930’s are remembered as dark time, one where The Great Depression did its worst to the country’s citizens, leaving many without food, money, or resources. Families were torn apart when fathers had to leave town to find work, and life was all about doing a lot with very little. In many ways, the decade was a black spot on American history, one that those who lived through it would prefer to forget. However, these photos show a different side to the thirties, images that prove that although times were tough, the human spirit remained strong.
