Halloween is almost here, and you know what that means. It’s time to start carving some pumpkins. It doesn’t matter how old you are. When it comes to pumpkins, the process is chaotic but oh-so-much fun! With a little bit of time and some luck, you can define all the characteristics you want on your pumpkin and get them to pop. After all, you want yours to be the scariest in the neighborhood, don’t you? So, go on! Show the world that you’re a total boss with the carving knife and design a pumpkin carving that will give everyone mind-blowing nightmares. That’s okay. Pumpkins can be scary or cute, big or small. It really doesn’t matter as long as they’re unique. You also have to remember that having fun is just as important as the design. But in case you’re stumped on what to carve. We have a few ideas that will give people something to scream about.

Carve some gnarly teeth into two pumpkins. Add two tiny pumpkins into the eye sockets. Then, add a pair of skeleton hands and place one pumpkin on top of the other. You’ll give everyone that Hear No Evil vibe.

A combo of patterns not only brings out your artistic side, but it can turn any front yard or backyard into a magical wonderland. This is a great alternative if you have kids who are too little and might get scared easily by a regular Jack-o-Lantern.

You don’t have to go full on deep with the carving. Just carve deep enough to make the eyes, nose and mouth noticeable. Glue some lashes while you’re at it. Then, all you’ll need is a witch’s top hat and black cloak. But don’t forget to add an extra pumpkin under her for the body.

Cut a hole on the top, scoop the guts out. Then paint the pumpkin with gold spray paint. Afterwards, all you have to do is stick a tiny cup or a vase inside. Then fill it with water and add a couple of your favorite flowers. It’s that easy!

If you really want to creep it real then try painting each pumpkin a different color, and then add a couple of puns to each of them. Everyone will be too busy laughing to scream. And that’s when you sneak up behind them and scream, “Happy Halloween, witches!”

You’ll need two pumpkins for this one. One will be for the bony limb carving. The other will be for the hand carving. What you’ll have is a double stacker with grave expectations that will undoubtedly be a hit with zombie fans.

Be a rebel this Halloween and give each pumpkin their own toupee made of plants. All you have to do is cut out the top, stick in a pot full of grass or ivy and you can give your pumpkin a hairdo that will be the talk of the underworld.

You can make the nose and mouth anyway you want, but make sure the eyes are large and round. You’ll need to do this to stick the LED lights inside. Then, wire a couple of fake snakes and stick them into the pumpkin. Your neighbors will turn to stone the moment they look into Medusa’s eyes.

They want to get into the spirit of things, and you can help them by creating an eye mask out of leaves. Once you’ve carved the pumpkin’s face, apply the mask with some glue. Now you’ll have a pumpkin who’s totally incognito.

You can make the nose and eyes out of felt. Carve some ears. Then use a pink pipe cleaner for the tails and voila! You’ve got yourself an adorable pig family that everyone will be oinking about. If anyone talks smack about it, tell them that their eyes are black because they’re possessed pigs.

Carve some pointy eyebrows and some fangs. Then use red paint for the tips to make it seem like your pumpkin’s bloodthirsty. You can even use some cardboard paper and wrap it around the back to mimic Dracula’s cape. Now this is how you carve out some fun on Halloween.

Carve the eyes and the mouth, but make sure that they look all cutesy just like a lion. Then use two mini-pumpkins to create a snout. Grab a little piece of pumpkin, paint it black and glue it on the face to give it that button nose. Now, all you need are some sunflowers for the mane. All it’s missing is the roar!

Put the carving knife down, Hannibal. You won’t need it for this project. But you will have to pick up your paint brush. With just a few colors, you can turn your pumpkin into a canvas. With a couple of strokes, you’ll have a hand-painted floral pumpkin that’s good enough to frame on a hotel wall.

So, emoji this! You can turn your pumpkins into a series of popular emojis. You don’t have to do a lot of carving (unless you want to) but you’ll need plenty of yellow paint to get these pumpkins all pumped up for Halloween.

You can do pretty much anything you want as long as it’s creepy, like an eerie church cemetery. Paint the outside of the pumpkin white. This will make the inside stand out more. And add a couple of cardboard bats to the outside, so it looks like they’re flying out of the diorama.

You can light up the porch by adding some light bulbs to each of the Marquee letters. Your neighbors will be so darn jealous because your porch will be the prettiest in an otherwise dark and ghoulish Halloween night.

Buy a green heirloom pumpkin. Then carve out the eyes and mouth. You can use toothpicks to attach the parsnip nose to the face. Then, all you’ll need are some straight-pin faux berry branches, a white pointy hat, and you’ve got the witch of your screams!

All you need to do is carve square holes for the door and the windows. Then paint a black silhouette of a haunted mansion on the pumpkin. Oh, and add a candle on the inside of the pumpkin. This will make your carving a bit more spook-tacular.

Well now you have the option of shutting them up. Carve your pumpkin the way you would any other. But instead of carving a mouth, you’ve going to use a zipper. You’ll need a toothpick on each side to fasten the zipper to the pumpkin. After that, if your pumpkin starts talking, tell him to zip it.

You’ll need lots of white and blue paint. Once the white paint has dried up, you can start designing something that will give your pumpkin a blue porcelain appearance.

Start by covering your pumpkin with chalkboard paint. Then grab a piece of chalk and write a different message every day leading up to Halloween.

Paint your pumpkin all white. Then, give your party guests markers and have them sign their names on it. Ask them to write a personal message if they’d like. That way, you can read the haunting messages and look back on your Halloween party with fondness.

It’s really very easy! Just pick a solid color, preferably one that’s light like cream, yellow, or beige. Then, grab a couple of push pins and start randomly sticking them into the pumpkin. You can create all sorts of patterns. It’s really up to you.

You can do all sorts of frightening things to your pumpkin like adding one of the most popular phrases used on Halloween… Boo! Start by applying letter stickers on the pumpkin. Then create a drip design with gold paint. Once the paint is dry, peel the stickers, and you’ll have a boo-tiful pumpkin!
