We all like to think that we’re living life to the fullest, but when you consider all the responsibilities and obligations we have on a day to day basis, it’s difficult to determine if we’re actually succeeding. Our golden years are the time when, if we’re lucky, we can enjoy all the things we’ve worked for in life — in other words, being old definitely has it’s perks, and doing whatever you want is definitely the most compelling one. One Irish grandmother knows this all too well, and decided to use her 79 years of wisdom in the best way possible: By making a seriously impulsive decision. Sadie Sellers has given her life to her children and grandchildren, and one overcast afternoon recently, she decided to do something for herself. So what did she decide to do? Well, we won’t spoil the whole story, but we will say that this cute little old lady turns out to be a total badass.He came to her home, pictured here, only to find that she was nowhere inside. Her wheelchair sat in her room, empty. She’d only left the home about twice in the last year, so Tony immediately began to worry.
But that’s when Sellers noticed that her walker was missing. Clearly, mom was on the move. After some searching and calling around in Derry, Northern Ireland, he was able to track her to this tattoo parlor.
Well, the jig is up: This badass 79-year-old was getting her first tattoo, and the look on her face says it all. Sadie, grandmother to 11 grandkids, was finally doing her thing and had no shame about it.
Well, not much other than the fact that she doesn’t really care if her family is upset with her. In fact, when she was asked what her family would think, she quipped, “I don’t f***ing care.”
22-year-old Samantha had been talking to her grandmother for weeks about the process, and after some discussion, Sadie knew she had to have one. Not wanting to deny her grandmother the privilege, Samantha was the one who took her to her favorite tattoo parlor.
“When you get to my age, you just have to live life to the full every day. I was talking about it with Samantha for a couple of weeks and she showed me hers. When I came back to the home and everyone heard about it they all rushed round to see it. Tony didn’t know what to think. Samantha is my right arm and my left arm. She spends nearly all her spare time down here with me so it was lovely to get this done with her.”
