This Student’s Heartfelt Graduation Song Is Going Viral… I Can Totally See Why. June 24, 2018

Graduating high school is a huge milestone for any teenager. Stepping away from the safety of parents, teachers, and a comfortable daily routine into a brand new world is both exciting and terrifying. Graduation is a right of passage into adulthood and a world of endless possibility. JonPaul Wallace performed his own version of Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” at his high school graduation in Lapeer, Michigan. The Lapeer High School graduate changed some of the lyrics to apply to his own experience and feelings about the momentous occasion. And like the original song, the new words were changed to describe the mixed emotions of moving forward to start a new life. It’s easy to feel nostalgic when he sang, “And it’s a big, big world. We may not all stick together. But, I know that every one of you I will remember. And I won’t forget how you changed my life for the better. So I won’t tell you goodbye, I’ll just say, ‘See you later.'” We are not sure what university program JonPaul is going to in the fall. We are hoping it’s music.
