Anyone who had an Atari growing up can appreciate the awesomeness of 8-bit imagery. Artist Adam Lister does, too: So much so that he recreates famous work with paintings that look like they’ve been created with 8-bit technology. More impressively, he uses watercolors to produce the effect, and the precision with which he’s mastered the medium is unparalleled. This September, Lister had a solo exhibition at White Walls gallery in San Francisco. These are just some of the pieces featured there, in an exhibition called “Elucidation.” The collection featured Lister’s incredible interpretations of classic paintings, as well as his 8-bit take on pop culture.
