Back in 2006, photographer Traer Scott released a book called [Shelter Dogs,][1] a collection of portraits of dogs living in shelters, waiting to be adopted. The book was a massive success, and now Scott is back with another collection of images: [Finding Home: Shelter Dogs & Their Stories][2]. According to Scott, the purpose of her work is to raise awareness about the kinds of animals living in shelters. “I wanted to challenge misconceptions and fears people have about adopting,” she said. This series goes deeper than the first round of portraits, and will give readers a better understanding of where each of the animals came from.
