A Diver Captured This RARE Footage… And I’m Never Going Swimming Again.

It’s not every day that a giant squid makes its way from the briny deep to say hello at the surface, but that’s exactly what happened on Christmas Eve near a pier in Toyama Bay, Japan. The squid was spotted swimming under fishing boats, reportedly hanging out for several hours before fishermen guided it back to open water. Luckily, someone was there to capture it using a submersible camera, providing an up close and personal look at the mysterious, amazing creature. Akinobu Kimura, owner of Diving Shop Kaiyu, swam in close proximity to the red-and-white real-life sea monster and got the shot. “My curiosity was way bigger than fear, so I jumped into the water and go close to it,” he told CNN in an interview.
