Brian Maixner works as a waiter at the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas. Like most waiters, Maixner earns most of his money through tips. Recently, one customer’s tip gave Maxiner a whole lot more than just money. Maixner has had pretty serious dental problems since he was a child. As an adult, he has been unable to pay the exorbitant cost of dental work, so his teeth have deteriorated even further. Still, his teeth never stopped him from smiling and being patient and kind to his customers.
One day at the diner, Maixner served a man named Fred Boettcher. Coincidentally, Boettcher also had a lot of dental issues as a boy. Without thinking twice, Boettcher offered to help, giving Maixner $25,000 for dental surgery and implants.
Boettcher’s generosity is truly inspiring, and we’re glad that Maixner finally has a pleasant grin to go along with his personality. This story gives us a reason to smile ,too.
