Parenthood is both a joyful time and one filled with apprehension. Knowing you are forever responsible for the well-being of your child is an intimidating task, even if it is a labour of love. While some couples conceive easily, others have to rely on the advances of medicine. Whatever journey a mother and father had to take in order to hold their baby in their arms, is fully worth it. Nine months are only the beginning of a full, beautiful life ahead. They had tried for years to conceive. Finally, with the help of IVF the reality of becoming proud parents was turning into a reality. During an ultrasound appointment, the couple found out they were having triplets.

The two girls were named Harper, Harlow, and the boy, Landon. The triplets were nothing less than three miracles for the couple. They were delivered via C-section and spent five weeks in the NICU.

The family was having a great time until the couple’s attention was caught by a note scribbled at the back of their bill. The note, left them in tears. It said, “Enjoy your babies, they don’t stay little long. From the family across from you, God bless you.”

As a way of showing gratitude to the strangers, Maxi wrote a heartfelt post on Facebook. It read “To the family in Red Lobster who sat across from us today. You never ask a question we never spoke a word. Yet you did something for us that we will never forget. When the waitress handed us your note the tears began to fall. To you we looked like just a family of 4 celebrating the most important man in our lives. Little did you know last year we celebrated as a family of 5. You see this past year we lost one of our triplets! The holidays are always the hardest. Without knowing any of this you paid for our meal. I’m writing you to thank you from the bottom of our hearts! I hope this post reaches you, so one day you might know that what might seemed like a small gesture of kindness to you, made celebrating my wonderful husband just a little bit easier this year.”

Dan immediately rushed his baby boy to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Citrobacter koseri bacterial meningitis. Sadly, he passed away shortly after.

Blue balloons with Landon’s photo was also present in the celebration. The couple are devastated by the loss of Landon but understand they have two little girls to love and raise.

“From the time, he was born he never closed his eyes. He just wanted to be awake all the time. It’s like he knew that he only had a short time,” says Maxi. The couple was overwhelmed with the stranger’s kind gesture.
