Everyone deserves to be a part of a loving family. It’s family that creates the closest bonds. Family, however, doesn’t always mean blood. Thousands of kids enter foster care every year. They enter a place of uncertainty and worry that they’ll never be part of a family ever again. Together We Rise is a nonprofit organization filled with volunteers who help kids in foster care and encourage families to adopt. The organization was started by college students who wanted to make a change and improve the lives of kids in the U.S. foster care’s system. The nonprofit provides resources such as school supplies, educational programs, and even scholarships. For the last two years, Together We Rise has started sharing heartwarming photos on Facebook and Instagram of newly adopted kids. The photos show the kids next to signs showing how much time they’ve spent in foster care before finally being adopted into their forever families. The photo series is tremendously inspiring.
