Dawson Tamatea was a beloved teacher at a New Zealand boy’s school who recently passed away in his sleep. His students wanted to give him a proper send off, so they tapped into Maori history and decided to perform a traditional haka as the hearse drove by the campus. If you’re unfamiliar with the haka, you’ll just have to see it for yourself in this video. It’s incredibly intense in moving – and according to the boys at the school, it’s just the sendoff this teacher would have wanted.
