As a busy parent, one of the scariest things you have to face in life is leaving your child at home to go to work. Even running a few errands sometimes means that you can’t afford to take them with you, so you have to find someone who’s trustworthy and reliable to watch over our precious boos. But who’d be able to look after your baby with as much attention to detail and care, besides mom and dad, or grandma and grandpa? Hiring a babysitter is a scary thing, particularly when you know nothing about the person standing right in front of you. But if you’re lucky enough to avoid this vetting process and hire a relative to babysit your baby, wouldn’t you make a list of all the things they must absolutely 100% avoid? On that list, “Never EVER letting the child out of your sight” is probably the number one concern. This young 15-year-old babysitter did just that, and managed to get a lot of laughs.Mom Claudia Sorhaindo relies on the help of 15-year-old niece, J’Ann Sorhaindo, to take her of her adorable baby, Ava Pemberton, who’s only 2 months old.
Depending on the age, they could make a whole mess, or worse yet, hurt themselves! Toddlers and babies seem to come with a manual that leads them exactly where the danger is awaiting!
From hitting their heads with the counter top, to crawling outside if the door isn’t shot, to suffocating on a simple pillow, moms know there are a million ways to hurt their loved ones and they’re NOT letting it happen!
She made sure to lay down the rules, so if she needed to take care of anything around the house, J’Ann would have to find a way to do whatever she needs to do, but in the company of the baby.
Thinking quick on her feet, she created the perfect way to make a sandwich in the kitchen without holding the babe, (after all, she’s only got two hands) and took her with her.
Mom got a text message from the witty teenager who boasted some mad multitasking skills. Baby Ava seems to be pretty chill, even though she’s being carried like a belt!
She said, “So I had to run out the house for a quick min, so I asked my niece to babysit Baby Ava.”
“A few min later I received a text saying that J’Ann wanted to make a sandwich but didn’t want to let baby Ava out of her sight. Lord send help this was her solution…creativity at its finest,” she added.
Not only is getting a babysitter expensive, but it’s tricky AF, particularly with all the crazies running wild in Florida, a state known for crazy shenanigans and wacky headlines!
No wonder she was so quick on her feet! She must’ve done it a million times!
“Our family is so big that every month there’s a birthday party,” she joked.
In 2011, her 3-month-old daughter, Jenelle, passed away after a medication mix-up. The hospital near their home in St. Crox is where that happened, and sadly, some mistakes can’t be mend.
Their sad and heartbreaking ordeal turned this mom into an extra careful lioness, ready to make sure no one ever messes with her cubs.
“Some might say I’m a little paranoid. I’m always checking to see if she’s breathing, so J’Ann showed me she is making sure she is keeping her eyes on Ava,” she added. But anyone in her position would be as much, if not more, wary of all the dangers lurking right the corner! That’s why J’Ann decided to research her invention and see if others would be interested to buy it. They set up a Go Fund Me Page in her name, and shared the news that J’Ann is excited to come up with a new line of baby carriers!
The lovely and spunky mom says that laughter is what helped her family cope with the death. The Sorhaindo family moved from St. Croix to the United States after she found out she was pregnant with Ava, just so they’d have access to better healthcare. She finished off by saying, “I am very thankful for having Baby Ava in my life because I thought I couldn’t have any more children,” proving that focusing on the moment is sometimes the best way to live a happy, healthy life that’s full of jokes, taunts, and hilarious amazing moments such as this one.
