Summer has come and stolen our hearts away from the dull realities of our routines, from our office desks or busy counters, and onto sandy shores, turquoise waters, and refreshing pools. Water tends to be our favorite form of escape during vacation, and who could blame us? One baby elephant at the Dallas Zoo just had his first pool experience, and it’s one of the cutest things you will ever see. The zoo posted a video of the 2-month-old calf, who they call Ellie Boy, slowly approaching an inflatable kiddie pool. In just a matter of seconds, he gets more and more comfortable and splashes water everywhere! The adorable little elephant was born to Mlilo, one of the five elephants rescued via relocation from drought-stricken Swaziland. The small parade arrived to the zoo underweight because of the drought’s effects on their food and hay, but they’re all doing much better now! Check out photos and a video of this miracle and poolside babe below.Summers in Dallas can be hot and humid, so one of the best ways to cool off is in the water. Check out baby elephant Ellie test out the waters at the zoo where he stays. He’s a little bit shy at first.

The calf weighs about 200 pounds. He was born to one of the five elephants rescued from a drought in Swaziland, Africa.

Looks like he was finally able to fit himself into the kiddie pool. We love to see Ellie comfortable and happy!
