Stories like this don’t always have a happy ending, but we’re glad to report that this one does. After being stranded on a beach in Auckland, this eight meter Antarctic Minke whale was spotted by passersby. The tide had gone out too quickly, and this poor gal couldn’t budge.
A rescue team was called, and efforts began to keep the animal wet as they waited for high tide. Luckily, their efforts weren’t in vain: High tide came in, and the whale was gone as quickly as she came.
