How would you react if someone described you as beautiful? To accept the title without question is often (and wrongly) seen as arrogance, so many people try to deflect the term in whichever way they can: They blush, say it’s not true, or simply disagree. In order to test this hypothesis, one student conducted a project to record what happens when she addresses someone as beautiful. Filming fellow students at a performing arts high school in Chicago, she gives them a simple explanation: “I’m filming images and things that I find beautiful.” Some of their reactions will surprise you — others may even bring a tear to your eye.
