Most people don’t realize how crucial bees are to our planet’s ecosystem, and sadly, there’s something out there that’s threatening to destroy them and their hives. The Verroa destructor is a certain kind of mite that kills bee colonies. Originally from Asia (where there are few bees left), these mites have traveled across the globe and threaten bee populations everywhere. Traditional pesticides and poisons don’t seem to be helping — but luckily, there’s one thing that might.
