Biker Comes Face To Face With A Mountain Lion, And Captured It ALL On Film.

One of the coolest things about being out in the wilderness is being one with nature, shut off from the rest of the world. Chris was bicycling through the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Fernie, British Columbia. He quickly realized he was being stalked by a mountain lion. Mountain lions are ambush predators who study their prey prior to attacking. Chris remained calm, often speaking to the animal. In the clip, you can even hear the large cat growling as it moved towards Chris. The cat may look relatively small on screen but it can take down an animal six times bigger than its weight. The mountain lion got too close for comfort but Chris handled the situation like a pro. Making the cougar think he was more of a threat than food probably saved his life. It’s a good thing since this Kootenay region is considered mountain lion territory. Watch the video the cyclist took during the standoff.
