Pit bulls might have a bad reputation of being a vicious breed but Alfie and Frankie will dispel that notion quickly. Sherry Stewart, a volunteer at Faithful Friends Animal Society in Wilmington, Delaware knew she would need her two canine’s help when she brought home three blind cats. Helen, a seven-year-old feline, and her 10-week-old siblings, Bruce and Willis had to have their eyes removed. Helen suffered from glaucoma while the younger two had infections. Stewart wanted to give the creatures a safe sanctuary while they adjusted to their new life after surgery. The pit bulls act like surrogate moms with the kittens. Alfie even allows Bruce to take his naps on his back. Stewart believes the dogs know exactly what to do because, “they seemed to have sensed they need little extra TLC.”
