We’ve all heard the human body described as a “work of art,” and given how subtly nuanced each unique body is, that’s definitely is. But John Poppleton’s work takes the concept of body as art and takes it to the next level – one that glows in the dark. “I’ve always been fascinated by black lights, the beauty of the human body,” Poppleton wrote. “The world around me and the ability to create and express myself through art. However, it wasn’t until boredom set in, after being stuck in wedding a portrait photography for more than twenty years, that all of these ingredients unexpectedly collided creating what I call “*Bodyscapes.*” Poppleton calls himself the “Bob Ross of Black Light Body Painting,” and looking at his work it’s definitely an apt title. He uses a dark studio and UV paint to create this illuminating work, creating a magically surreal image of the human form that’s unlike any other. See Poppletons “*Bodyscapes*” below.
