You probably never thought that people would gleefully anticipate the arrival of something that smelled like rotting flesh, but the blooming of the titan arum, better known as the corpse flower, just proved you wrong. On December 28, the flower bloomed for the very first time at a botanical garden in South Australia. The flowers take notoriously long to reach full bloom, and given that this is one of the most wonderfully weird flowers in existence, it’s sure to bring out admirers in droves.
