We can all relate to buying something and realizing we have something totally different. A man in China named Wang Kaiyu knows that experience all too well when he purchased two puppies only to discover two years later what he actually brought home were two bear cubs. Kaiyu said the two animals grew increasingly larger in size as well as their appetite. The bears behaved well and were even groomed and bathed by Kaiyu daily. However, the two did display unusual behavior for dogs such as killing and eating his pet chickens. It was not until Kayui came across a local wildlife and forestry pamphlet that he realized that he not only had bears in his home but Asian black bears, an endangered species. The animals have been removed from the home and are currently under the protection of the Yunnan Wild Animal Rescue Center. After a full check-up, the bears were in good health thanks to Kaiyu’s care.
