If you grew up in the 1980’s there are many things that are hard to forget. For one, it’s not easy to explain fashion’s love of the big shoulder pads and super baggy genie pants. Everything about the 80’s was over the top. From the big hair, bold makeup, and bright neon colours, this time was not for the faint of heart. Yet, one thing this decade can boast like no other is it’s awesome music with fun and cool lyrics. Most of the idols we love today like Madonna, Bon Jovi, U2, and the late Prince were at the top of their game in the 80’s. Their influence on today’s artist in undeniable. One song that got many off the dance floor was Lionel Richie’s, “Dancing on the Ceiling.” When this single was released exactly 30 years ago this month, its catchy tune made it to number one on Billboard Hot 200.
