My aunt once told me that I cared too much. She said this whenever I took too long getting ready or when I would panic about being a few minutes late to work. “It’ll be okay,” she’d laugh. “When you get older, you won’t care at all. You’ll be free.” Initially, I believed that she was speaking on bitterness and insensitivity. But it hit me with age. As you grow older, the things that used to matter to you — you know, those matters of life and death — begin to fade away. You learn to let go, because most of the time, it’s just not worth it. At the end of the day, you want nothing more than to be happy and to share that happiness with the people you love. Older people, or the wiser generation as I like to call them, know this better than the rest of us. The 83-year-old man in this video shows you the right way to party at an electronic music festival in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Meanwhile, everyone a quarter his age is too busy caring too much.
