An underwater model named Hannah Fraser danced on the sea floor along with tiger sharks as large as 17 feet long. She teamed up with Emmy Award winning cinematographer and photographer Shawn Heinrichs and the world’s leading authority on large sharks, Jim Abernethy. This brave performance was done to make a statement against the actions of the Western Australia government’s shark cull, as well as the global slaughter of sharks. The Australia shark cull is expected to snare more than 900 animals over the next 3 years. Studies show that when large predators are removed, entire ecosystems can be destabilized. Hannah wasn’t wearing any scuba or dive gear. She relied only on her skills, training, and experience along with the guidance of her team.
You may not be a fan of sharks, but this shark cull will have an effect on all marine life which includes dolphins, whales, sea turtles, sea lions, and more.
