Democrats Are The Ones Manufacturing Emergencies, Not President Trump. March 31, 2023Leave a comment

President Trump announced on February 15th that he was prepared to “pull the trigger” on his apparent “nuclear option,” which is the declaration of a national emergency, in order to secure enough funding for his most important campaign promise: the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

It’s been one month since the president made his announcement, which led to his emergency declaration. In the following weeks, a resolution was drafted, which passed in the Democrat-controlled House to block the president’s declaration. On Thursday, the resolution passed in the Senate by a 59-41 vote, as several important Republicans voted in favor of the resolution. As expected, Trump immediately went to Twitter to announce that he was looking forward to overriding the resolution.

Even though there is a significant number of Republican opposition, it doesn’t seem like there will be enough votes to override the president’s expected veto. For right now, Trump’s border wall seems like it’s still being protected from harm.

Now that Trump has made his intentions clear, several progressives in Congress have returned to their typical rhetoric. Their most frequently used debate is their belief that the crisis at the border is entirely made-up, and the solution that Trump is proposing is expensive and ridiculous. According to these progressives, parents and human traffickers aren’t dragging small children to the border to use them as bargaining tools to gain entry into the U.S., and thousands of pounds of illegal drugs aren’t being smuggled across the border almost on a daily basis.

The Democrats would much rather have you ignore that just one month ago the largest fentanyl bust in American history was made at the border. They also would rather you not know that, according to the Pew Research Center, there has been a dramatic spike in apprehensions at the border in 2018.

According to the Democrats, there is no crisis at the border because the Department of Homeland Security has stated that more illegal immigrants stay in the United States when their Visa expires, as opposed to crossing the border illegally. They also claim that there isn’t an emergency because Ali Velshi from MSNBC has shown statistics that prove that the cost of illegal immigration is $54 billion, and not the $200 billion that Trump claimed that it was.

Funny, the Democrats claim that the Republicans “manufacture” emergencies when one of their biggest platforms is climate change. A great example of the Democratic rhetoric about climate change came from Beto O’Rourke yesterday when he was speaking about the Green New Deal while on his campaign trail over the weekend. “Not to be dramatic, but literally, the future of the world depends on us,” O’Rourke said.

We can give thanks to Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez for sensationalizing this rhetoric when she publicly claimed that the planet would be lucky to survive another 20 years. “And we’re like: The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” said Ocasio-Cortez. Claims, such as these, don’t really come as a surprise, especially considering that former President Barack Obama claimed that climate change was the “greatest threat facing our nation.” As well as, when Al Gore released “An Inconvenient Truth,” which declared that in just a few years, the major cities in the United State would be underwater if Americans didn’t put Democrats back in charge.

All of this fear-mongering comes in spite of the fact that NASA has stated that the Earth is warming at a rate of between .01 and .02 degrees Celsius every year. Even though the Democrats are trying to say that this extremely slow rate of growth is an immediate emergency.

What makes things even worse is the fact that the left-wing solution is attempting to put the United States in the position to be a martyr in pursuit of having an environmentalist high ground. Even if the environment was in a state of emergency, America could never fix the problem by itself. Even though countries like China are at the forefront of carbon dioxide production and aren’t doing anything to rectify the situation, the left would rather have taxpayers believe that it’s the responsibility of the United States to take care of the issue.
