Somewhere on the streets of Istanbul, this disfigured cat was lost to the world. Unable to care for itself, the kitten simply spent its days and nights meowing from pain and hunger, waiting for the inevitable moment when it’s little heart would stop beating and it’s misery would finally have an end. People heard the kitten crying as they passed, but no one stopped – except for one little girl. The seven-year-old girl, who is still unnamed, heard the kitten cry and didn’t hesitate to pick it up, despite it’s somewhat frightening visage. She brought it to her father and he checked the cat into an animal hospital. The nurses there realized that not only was this little cat’s face deformed, but it was also infested with mites. Over the following days, the hospital nursed the kitten back to health, all while the little girl was by its side.
