Rubén B. Caballero grew up watching Disney movies. The 29-year-old loves the animated characters so much that he has put them into our modern world as college students with an edge. Can you imagine Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty in boots and an arm band tattoo? The self-taught illustrator even reimagines animals as people. The Lion King’s Nala is an education student while Simba majors in philosophy. Based in San Sebastian, Spain, Caballero uses the alias, [Hyung86][1]; his inspiration is simple: “I’m in love with Disney movies. They are an important part of my childhood and I want to draw how they would be seen today.” The Disney heroes do not look as innocent as they are portrayed in their films; instead they have a lot of style and street credit with their ink.
