They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and when it comes to the relationship between a girl and her dog, that couldn’t be more true. Much like a human missing their best friend, dogs can get really sullen when their owners leave for awhile — and totally ecstatic when they return. When this soldier left for three months at basic training, she knew her dog was going to miss her. After all, the dog was elderly, so he was used to them being together. Luckily, the soldier was able to take a short break and return home for Christmas, and her dog’s reaction to the surprise is absolutely priceless.
