When you think of a cat, the whiskers, button nose, slanted eyes, fur, the meow, and oh, yes, of course the ears, come to mind. But this little rascal is missing one of those crucial elements… his ears. Now imagine going through life deaf. Life would be pretty tough, but to also lose your ears is literally adding insult to injury. Just ask this adorable cat who has to endure a sound-free existence. Naturally, no one wanted a defective cat so finding a home for this poor little fellow was tough. It almost seemed as if this gorgeous kitty was doomed to roam the world without an owner, but then something awesome happened that changed it and a woman named Molly’s life forever.He’s not just missing a pair of ears, but he’s also deaf too.
The 9-and-a-half-year-old cat was abandoned by his original owner after his cysts infected ears were removed.
He’s extremely loving and likes to snuggle and fill his new owner with lots of love.
But then Molly Lichtenwalner decided it was time for a pet, and she chose him. He may have been defected in the eyes of others, but to her, he was complete, he was beautiful. He was one of a kind.
A car accident left the grad student with a terrible bout of anxiety disorder. Thankfully, her new furry little friend was able to help her emotionally cope with her illness and in the process she helped him cope with his deafness.
Otitis doesn’t just help Molly deal with panic attacks and stress, but he also watches over her while she sleeps.
She once had a deaf dog too. So when she decided that she wanted to get a new pet, she knew it would have to be an adult cat with special needs.
Molly admits that the only thing keeping her calm at times is the presence of her beloved feline, Otitis. We’re sure he’s grateful to her for rescuing him too.

He’s always so into her business because he likes to know what she’s up to. Fortunately, that’s just the way she likes it.
It’s safe to say that when she rescued him from that dismal shelter, he ended up rescuing her in the process.
