You don’t need to be a boxing fan to know that bad boy Floyd Mayweather will get in the ring and fight against Irishman Conor McGregor. McGregor is not a boxing fighter but rather the UFC Lightweight Champion. In fact, he is the only person to hold two belts in separate weight classes, he has also won the UFC Featherweight Champion. This has many die-hard boxing fans screaming foul since McGregor is not a boxer, making it an easy win for Mayweather. The match has been dubbed a farce to make the two men more money than they possibly need or are worth. Their first of four-day international press tour to promote their fight took place last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The two men threw verbal jabs at each other but it was McGregor’s suit that spoke volumes.40-year-old Mayweather is stepping back into the ring with an impeccable 49-0 professional boxing record. He retired in 2015.
The odds are against McGregor despite being 28 years old and still in his physical prime.
Another challenge McGregor faces is that he will be required to use 10-ounce boxing gloves. UFC uses smaller ones.
The pay-per-view event will air on Showtime and is expected to bring in millions. The cost to watch the fight has not been determined yet but when Mayweather fought Manny Pacquiao in 2015, it was $99.95 to watch.
There is count down to the fight. There are 44 days left till the big match.
“Really we haven’t seen anything in modern history that resembles it, it’s impossible to predict how many sales this will do,” he admitted.
“He is f****d,” McGregor promised. “There’s no other way about it. His little legs, his little core, his little head — I’m gonna knock him out inside four rounds, mark my words.”
“I am a young, confident, happy man that has worked extremely hard for this,” McGregor said.
McGregor predicts he will knock Mayweather by the fourth round.
When Mayweather took the microphone he announced he was going to kick McGregor’s a**.
Mayweather was heavily booed when he took the stage, speaking to approximately 11,000 fans.
“He can be more famous… I always chose fortune over fame,” he admitted.
Mayweather’s biggest hecklers were not the fans in attendance but rather McGregor himself. While the boxing champ was speaking, McGregor continued insulting his opponent to the point that organizers turned his microphone off.
He taunted Mayweather’s IRS troubles, alluding that financial difficulties with overdue taxes prompted him to do this fight.
It has been reported this was his pay for coming out of retirement. Although, he is expected to make much more from the pay-per-view event.
Which only made people look at McGregor’s dashing blue pinstripe suit. It wasn’t the clean and elegant tailoring that made journalists and fans take notice.
The lines read, “f**k you” vertically.
Famous men’s magazine GQ stated “This will forever be known as the ‘Conor McGregor F*** You Suit’ and is perhaps 2017’s dumbest style moment so far, almost as dumb as his decision to fight Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.
