Jennifer Murrow Grover and her husband James had to wait almost four years to hold their two sons. Jennifer saw a photo of 7-year-old Bronson and 14-year-old Joseph and knew they belonged in her family. The couple began the adoption process in 2012 to bring the boys to the United States from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A year later, the DRC government halted international adoption. But Jennifer and James already had past experiences dealing with adoption. The parents to four biological and three adopted children knew “to expect the unexpected,” says Jennifer. A daughter was adopted from Kazakhstan 15 years ago and two sons were adopted from an orphanage in China. Despite the stress and pain of their sons living in another country, the Grover’s were persistent. “They’re my sons. There’s no way you can give up,” explains James. Watch the moment the family finally unites on March 1, 2016.
