When Willow the cheetah passed away this month after a c-section, her five cubs were left without their mom to take care of them and teach them the ropes. It was up to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s in-house nanny Blakely to step in and care for the newborns. The Australian shepherd dog is a pro when it comes to caring for babies whose mom’s cannot take care of them. Blakely has nursed cheetahs before as well as a bat eared fox, warthogs, and wallabies. The canine will give the five cheetahs a lot of snuggles, comfort and its body to climb on for exercise. He will also teach his five babies the difference between a gentle bite and the beginning of a fight.
