It all started when Chris Durso, creator of the food and culture website [Foodiggity.com][1], received a proposition from his eight-year-old son: > Dad what if you made states, but like, they were made of food, and what if they like, had funny names like New Pork or New Jerky? Moments of genius like this don’t come around very often, and Durso didn’t want to let this one pass him by. So, inspired by his son, Durso created **The Foodnited States of America**, an Instagram-based photo project that uses food to create the shapes of the 50 states, and then gives them brilliant corresponding punny names. Though Durso and his team have ideas for all of the states, they’re also open to suggestions for more.
