French firefighters are on a league of their own. Their perfect physiques and good looks made them the ideal models to pose for Pompiers Sans Frontières translating to Firefighters Without Borders, 2016 calendar. Fashion photographer Fred Goudon spent a year working on the project. He chose the men appearing on the calendar, admitting they had to be more than just beautiful. “Someone can be photographic, but there has to be something more to them, something deeper about their soul. They need to have a beautiful mind,” explains Goudon. The proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go to Pompiers Sans Frontières. The non-for-profit organization provides humanitarian aid all over the world. The NGO began its operations in 1991. Goudon says this assignment was special to him, “for me and for many others, firefighters are heroes. Every single day, these guys are out there saving people’s lives.”
