2015 was the year of “Let It Go,” the show-stopping theme song from Disney’s major blockbuster *Frozen*. It seemed like everywhere we went, we couldn’t get away from “Let It Go” — that being said, we’ve never heard a version of it like this. Performed by The Piano Guys, the piece combines a piano and cello, along with “Let It Go” and themes from Vivaldi’s classic piece “Winter.” The pair of melodies work surprisingly well together, and the backdrop for the performance, built by hand by a team that specializes in ice structures, is definitely on-theme. Here’s what the musicians had to say about the piece: *Vivaldi’s almost reckless string motives helped us surround the determined, upbeat melody and chords from “Let It Go” with intensity and uncertainty. We wanted the music to alternate between “freezing” and “thawing,” representing the opposing forces throughout the “Frozen” story.* Check out the beautiful two man performance below.
