It’s not everyday you come face to face with an alligator. Charles Helms was on his third hole at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto, Florida when he saw a giant gator casually walking by. The massive reptile did not appear aggressive despite being a solitary but highly territorial animal by nature. This is not the first time this alligator has strolled through and interrupted a game. He’s actually a regular visitor and golfers often stop to take his picture. He’s seen as the unofficial mascot of the course. Alligator attacks are very rare and are usually the result of humans getting too close for comfort. The best way to observe these fascinating animals is from a safe distance as they are still carnivorous predators.
