He Took These 24 Photos Of Chinese Street-Life At Just The Right Moment. January 7, 2017

Tao Lui is a self-taught Chinese photographer. He has gained some serious respect amongst the community of street photographers. Tao has a great eye for capturing perfectly-timed photographs. In his hometown of Hefei, Tao works as a water meter reader during the day. When he takes breaks and after work, he makes time to snap some pictures. What I found most interesting about Tao’s story was his ambition to learn. He spent countless hours reading books and magazines. He was so determined to learn the art of photography that he used proxies to bypass Chinas internet censorship. That way he could watch tutorials from professional photographers on YouTube. Not long ago, Tao’s determination paid off. His talents were acknowledged by a group of Asian street photographers on Facebook. His photos went viral. Check out some of his amazing work below.
