On Christmas Eve 1996, one woman won a poinsettia from a radio show. Three days later, she died unexpectedly — but her husband has been taking care of the plant ever since. Frankie Allison has been keeping his wife’s memory alive all of these years to honor the memory of his wife. Every Christmas, it blooms, filling the room with blossoms and reminding him why he’s kept it around all these years. The poinsettia is a bit of an anomaly as well — plant experts say that it’s unusual for a poinsettia to grow to this size. We can’t help but think that his late wife has something to do with it.
