In March 2011, tragedy struck the Japanese prefecture of Fukushima when an earthquake caused a major tsunami to strike Fukushima’s nuclear power plant. Today, few remain in the prefecture, including one particularly special resident of a small Fukushima village, otherwise known as “The Last Man of Fukushima.”After the tsunami, more than 57,000 people were forced to leave their homes to avoid risk of radiation poisoning. Unfortunately, many of them left their pets and animals behind. Most of these animals would have quickly perished had it not been for Naoto Matsumura, who returned to the evacuated zone to feed them.
