If you go to the dentist regularly, at some point, they’ve probably taken a mold of your teeth. To get an accurate mold, they have to use something called alginate, which is a purple, rubbery substance that probably made you gag a little. However, did you know that you can use alginate for a purpose that’s much more fun? It can be a great DIY craft material to make keepsakes – and it’s also used in Hollywood to create prosthetic limb.
