When Heather Clark’s 7-month-old son Lukas died unexpectedly, she was absolutely heartbroken. Despite her tremendous feeling of loss, Clark decided that Lukas’ death would not be in vain: She would donate his organs so that other families would have a chance to avoid the same crushing loss she’d felt. Meanwhile, in another part of the world, a 4-year-old named Jordan Drake desperately needed a heart due to a congenital defect. After undergoing six surgeries, she finally received the donor heart she needed to survive: It was Lukas Clark’s. In the video below, the mothers of the two children meet for the first time.
