This Bride Is About To Say ‘I Do’ In A 120 Year-Old Wedding Dress. Here’s Why… September 26, 2017

Abigail Kingston will be wearing *something borrowed* on her wedding day on October 17th. It will be a gown worn a total of 10 times over the span of 120 years. The first woman to wear the dress was Mary Lowry Warren when she married in 1895 and is Kingston’s great-great-grandmother. The dress has not been preserved properly. The gown had only been to the dry cleaners once and had holes as well as the color had changed to an old brown. Bridal designer [Deborah LoPresti][1] spent 200 hours restoring the heirloom. The vintage dress will probably not go into storage after the nuptials. A12th bride is already looking to use it for her own union. [1]: http://deborahlopresti.com/thehouse.html
