“The epidemic of malicious fake news and false propaganda that flooded social media over the past year — it’s now clear that so-called fake news can have real-world consequences. This isn’t about politics or bipartisanship. Lives are at risk.” With quotes like this, you would think that Hillary Clinton was free and clear from making up news. Unsurprisingly, Clinton is one of the worst producers of fake news that there is.
In 1996, Hillary Clinton made a trip to Bosnia, but her account of the trip is a bit different than what actually happened. In 2008, Clinton stated: “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” Unfortunately, this is just another time that Hillary was caught in a lie. First thing’s first, Bosnia was not a dangerous place to go at the time Hillary claims that this happened. Besides that, don’t you think that the entire world would have known if the First Lady Hillary Clinton was fired at while on a trip to Bosnia? Yeah, it seems like she likes to stretch the truth more often than she likes to admit.
While Clinton was on the campaign trail, she told an Iowan audience that: “I think if we were to just go around this room, there are a lot of immigrant stories. All my grandparents, you know, came over here and you know my grandfather went to work in lace mill in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and worked there until he retired at 65.” Despite the fact that her paternal grandfather, Hugh Rodham Sr., was born in England, the rest of her family was born in the United States. So the fact that she said that all of grandparents immigrated to the U.S. was a complete fabrication because 3 out of four of them were born in Pennsylvania and Illinois.
Hillary has been telling the same story about a sexist recruiter from the Marines since the ‘90s, but the truth has finally surfaced. “You’re too old, you can’t see and you’re a woman,” Clinton claimed that said she was told. She continued by adding that the recruiter completely dismissed her my suggesting that she join the Army, instead. “Maybe the dogs would take you,” she claimed the recruiter said.
As it turns out, this was unsurprisingly another complete exaggeration. Clinton did indeed go to a recruiter, but what actually happened was a bit different than her original claim. When asked what happened during the encounter with the Marines recruiter, Clinton stated: “Here is what did happen: It was actually — there was a recruiting station, and I thought, you know, maybe I should consider serving my country by joining the military. So I walked into the recruiting station, and the person on duty was a Marine. And I think I was 26, maybe 27, so, an older potential recruit. I said to the young Marine, I said, “Well, you know, I’d be interested in getting some information to see whether I could maybe serve. I’m a lawyer. Maybe I could help in some way.” He says, “Well, I think you are too old for the Marines but maybe the dogs will take you.” I said, “The dogs?” He goes, “Yeah, you know, the Army.” I said, “Well, it doesn’t sound like I’m going to be welcome so…” It’s not shocking to find out that Clinton completely changed the story to make the recruiter seem sexist. Actually, at this point, it’s expected of her.
After the attack in Benghazi, Clinton stood in the room with the family members of the deceased and told them that the attack was caused by a random video on YouTube about Mohammed, the writer of the Quran. She claimed that the attack was an act of protest, but she would tell a completely different story later that week, which is not really surprising.
Clinton later told the Prime Minister of Egypt, Hesham Qandil, and her very own daughter that the attack was an act of terrorism. “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack – not a protest.” The audacity of Clinton to tell those mourning families that a random video killed their loved ones. How much lower is she capable of going?
One of the biggest scandals that have surrounded Hillary Clinton has to do with her emailing habits. Clinton was accused of sending and receiving all of her Secretary of State emails from an unsecured server in her home, instead of the secured state government system. People were obviously not happy about the accusations.
In March of 2015, Clinton was quoted saying: “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material. I’m certainly well aware of the classification requirements and did not send classified material.” And then again, in February of 2016, she said: “I never sent or received any classified material.”
Former FBI Director James Comey believed that all of Hillary’s excuses, and their modifications, were all false. Despite his beliefs, Comey wouldn’t prosecute Clinton for sending information through the open Internet because he claimed that she had no “intent” of breaking the law. So, she knowingly sent emails through the open Internet, which she knew she wasn’t supposed to do, but she didn’t “intend” on breaking the law? Oh, right.
In the middle of the third presidential debate, Clinton chose to deflect from talking about her paid private speeches by throwing blame at the source of the issue, Wikileaks. She claimed that the federal government had actually “confirmed” that hackers from Russia planted Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails with Julian Assange, the publisher, and editor-in-chief of Wikileaks.
Clinton was quoted stating: “What’s really important about WikiLeaks is that the Russian government has engaged in espionage against Americans. They have hacked American websites, American accounts of private people, of institutions. Then they have given that information to WikiLeaks for the purpose of putting it on the Internet. This has come from the highest levels of the Russian government, clearly, from Putin himself, in an effort — as 17 of our intelligence agencies have confirmed — to influence our election.”
Assange says it’s not true that Russia provided Wikileaks with the emails. “That’s false — we can say that the Russian government is not the source,” Assange stated in an interview with John Pilger at London’s embassy in Ecuador.
Fred Fleitz, from the Center for Security Policy, claimed that Clinton’s accusations were false: “What Clinton said was false and misleading. First of all, only two intelligence entities – the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – have weighed in on this issue, not 17 intelligence agencies. And what they said was ambiguous about Russian involvement….Saying we think the hacks “are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts” is far short of saying we have evidence that Russia has been responsible for the hacks. Maybe high-level officials would have authorized them if Russian hackers were responsible, but the DNI and DHS statement did NOT say there was evidence Russia was responsible.”
In May of 2018, Hillary Clinton stated that fund managers “pay less in taxes than nurses and truck drivers.” Her statement was entirely inaccurate, in terms of dollar amounts, which is what she was claiming. If she meant to say that the tax rates were different, well, that’s a completely different situation. Even so, the data doesn’t make up that point either. Obviously, Clinton has a huge problem with getting facts right.
During a debate on January 17th, 2016, Clinton made this statement: “We now have driven (healthcare) costs down to the lowest they’ve been in 50 years.” Even though the rate of growth has consistently been at historic lows, the cost of healthcare per-person has steadily increased over the last 50 years. Even Clinton realized she was flubbing the truth because her campaign stood up for her and claimed that she had misspoken…clearly.
On December 8th, 2015, Clinton claimed that “we now have more jobs in solar than we do in oil.” Once again, Clinton didn’t look at the facts and her campaign had to come to her aide. When the facts were closely looked at and broken down, it seems that oil actually creates 10 times more jobs than solar does. Well, Hillary, it’s starting to look like you can’t even bother yourself to read about what you’re passing off as facts.
