Coby Persin wanted to find answers, so he conducted a social experiment: Would people be more willing to give money to a homeless person for drugs and alcohol, or to a homeless father with his child. He dressed up in costume and sat on the streets of New York City, first with a sign that said he wanted money for drugs, then with a little girl. People’s reactions as they walked by were very different, and the times they chose to be generous might surprise you.
