Lately, when you turn on the news, or log into Facebook, all you see is negativity. The media shows a country that is completely divided, but I truly believe that nothing could be further from the truth. Texas is currently in a state of emergency due to Hurricane Harvey, and what I’ve seen people do for each other has warmed my heart. It’s reminded me that Americans are there for each other. There have been an overwhelming amount of people that have rushed to the aid of Texans, and that’s absolutely beautiful. Check out this undeniable proof of our unity.
->**In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the people of Houston have succumbed to flooded streets. This amazing photo shows people coming together to form a human chain, in order to rescue a man stuck in a car.**<-
#Harvey has taken a lot, but it will NEVER take our humanity. We have seen so many neighbors helping each other. THANK YOU #HopeForHouston pic.twitter.com/M8aTACwHhc — ABC13 Houston (@abc13houston) August 30, 2017
->**In this video, a long line of people grabbed each others hands to form a human chain. Their bravery, and concern for human life, ensured that the man would be saved.**<-
->**There was absolutely no hesitation when it came to helping him. This is what it means to be a hero. If it wasn’t for these people, that elderly man probably would’ve died in his car.**<-
->**People all over are seeing the America that they remember, the America that they’re proud to be a part of.**<-
